Warning : Incorrect usage of phlash16 utility may cause permanent damage to your system BIOS.

 

Quick overview:

 

Phoenix Phlash16 utility is capable of updating just any BIOS with any ROM version. Most other utilities would not give you such option due to warranty limitations.

Do not use it unless required and you are fully aware of possible consequences (i.e. flashing BIOS with incorrect ROM).

Most motherboard manufacturers have specific BIOS update software which is always preferred and safer way to update your motherboard.

 

 

How to use:

 

Step 1 : Copy the phlash16.exe and ROM file to bootable diskette.

Step 2 : Boot to clean DOS and run phlash16 /? to choose the correct switch.

Step 3 : Create previous BIOS backup and flash it with desired update.

Step 4 : Cold boot computer and configure BIOS accordingly or just load Default Settings.
